We purchased the GE Extended Warranty for a high end gas kitchen range that was purchased seven years ago. At the end of the one year standard warranty we purchased the extended warranty plan. Now, six years later, we need replacement parts to effect a repair and GE has discontinued the necessary parts. In the first attempt to repair the stove, the technician made the problem worse. Initially, only one surface burner ignitor was inoperable, but now, all four burners can only be lit by turning the knob to the medium setting. This makes the stove useless, since we now have only high or low settings. Furthermore, it is a dangerous situation for children and inexperienced people in the house who try to light the stove.
