I have an HP PC that is only abou 18 month old. I called the warranty phone number provided by Circuit City. I talked to Chandra who put me on hold after I described the problem with my CD Rom drive. She came back on the phone and I guess I received the standard answer "That is a software issue not covered by your warranty" When I asked Chandra to speak to a supervisor, she hung up on me.

I called back and spoke to Michael, who apologized for Chandra and said it truly sounded like I had an hardware issue and if it were up to him, this would be covered. I can tell you this is an hardware issue. I find it very hard to believe that without any troubleshooting it was determined that my PC was not defective.

I has to fax my complaint to GE consumer relations. Dan responded with the same pld song and dance. Still no one has looked a the PC. I asked Don who his supervisor was and was told it was Brian Schafer "but all he does is make sure I get to work on time and leave when I'm supposed to" I asked to be transferred to Brian and of course the answer was that he was not available. I asked for his voice mail No I can't do that. I am the supervisor you need to talk to" I said I wanted to speak to someone else and was put on hold for 10 minutes. John came on the phone and said he was the supervisor. Of course I questioned that.

John also would not let me speak to "Brian" He also said "That is not how companies operate" I work for EDS and I can tell you we do forward calls. I asked for an address and I was given a PO Box. I asked for a physical address and John said "We don't give that out, you know how the world is now since 9/11 and everything" John than hung up on me and here I am with a useless piece of paper and an HP PC that does not have a working CD Rom drive.
