Complaint Review: GE Zurich

GE Zurich unethical ripoff

Bought compact laptop at Circuit City
bought extended warrenty
Power plug broke
Glued plug to get data off computer, since GEZ, would not warrentee the data Got data off.

Sent in computer
GEzurich denied repair
NO warrantee agreement given at time of purchase or ever.
Any action taken by me is not abuse
There was no alterenative given to protect data.

They said that I abused computer, and If I didnt, then the design of computer power connector is a flawed and is not covered by warrentee, and it is a problem with the manufacturer.General Electric can allow these unethical people at Z to besmerch the good name of GE.

It is now been about 6 months and I still dont have the use of my computer.

Under normal use how would a power connection which is soldered onto a montherboard break off? It would not happen unless that connection was jerked or pulled in such a way that the connection would break loose. In that event you would be at fault. These type of things do not "just fall off", they are forced off.

To top all of that off you went and tried to manually repair the laptop yourself without calling us. Now this warranty has been voided. As far as I am concerned denying service on GE-Zurich's part was valid.

Please read the terms and conditions of your contract and you will see this is all clearly documented there. If you do not have a copy of this you can obtain one at the store your laptop was purchased at.
