This company is supposed to help consolidate your bills and negotiate a lower balance for what you owe creditors.

I had over $8000 worth of credit card bills and they promised to cut my balance to just over $5000. They offered payment plans from 9 months to 36 months. Sounds good! So I started doing business with them until my creditors kept calling me and sending my accounts to collection agencies. I talked to my calling creditors and explained that I was in the Geana Debt program. They all told me that they had never received anything from them.

So I stopped making payments to Geana and then looked them up on the Better Business Burea and found many complaints and aliases. What kind of company is this? I'm already in debt and they're taking money from me that could be used to pay my bills and get me out of debt.

Don't feel bad, I was also a Geana customer and am still attempting to get a refund for services that I didn't feel they advertise. I believe they just flat out refuse to give refunds. I continued to receive calls from creditors while doing business with them, and thought they would take care of it. Anyways, they didn't and I decided I'm better off handling the creditors on my own. I emailed Geana stating that I have declined to stay with their program and would rather have the money refunded to handle the creditors on my own. I have emailed them numerous times to no avail. If I ever do a debt program again I will be sure to do some research next time....Live and learn:(
