I was initially approached about services for my computers in 2012. Initially they were helpful and worked on several computers. Over a two year period, they insisted on more payments for services. Including telling me not to let anybody else touch my laptops. After 12-18 months, I became suspicious; so after each remote service session, I had my specialist check it for bugs, bots and whatever crap they could put in.  Notably there were items on the laptop that were not there before the putative srevices.

After $25K over several years of a putative life time deal, including changing laptops and changing from System 7 to 10, they wanted more. They would say I need additional life time services because Microsift ceased support for certain system components etc. My friends in Connecticut monitored the place for several weeks. There were questionable people at that site.

It became more suspicious because their customer service approach progressively was bad. Every time they called, they never say hello or any niceties. They would say "Go to your computer, it is pumping out bugs etc." Other times the orders over the phone sounded like they learned business tactics from a prison camp.

Then started receiving calls from putatively other companies, Microsoft and Apple, saying my laptop was infected or my e-mails were being spied on. These calls would come shortly after I had told Geek Support that I was not interested in services. I was able to correlate that the calls came from the same people because of a slip-up by a caller. I asked him where he was calling from - he said Enfield, CA (there is no town in California with that name).

On one occasion, they asked me to send them a $17K check to a Florida mail box for Pantel Communications and then another check for $25K.  Another friend checked out the mailbox, who watched it for several weeks. Suffice it, it was interesting watching. Seems they are plying their trade from Florida and Arizona under other phone numbers.

More recently they are calling putatively to refund $399 for previous service payments.  Interestingly, they request access to my computers so they can refund me.
