For the last seven months I have been trying to get GEMB/Wal-Mart to correct miss information they have placed on my credit reports. My account was a charge off back in 2003 but was paid in full as agreed on 11/2006 through an attorney they hired to collect from me. I have contacted GEMB/Wal-Mart several times a month since I discovered that they were reporting incorrect information but they still continue to misreport. I have also filed disputes through each credit bureaus but each time GEMB/Wal-Mart verifies the information as correct or updates it to something else false.
GEMB/Wal-Marts actions have caused my car insurance to go up, I have been denied a car loan and credit cards. I am now afraid to apply for a mortgage because GEMB/Wal-Mart reported me in default of a mortgage when it was actually a credit card. I have asked GEMB/Wal-Mart several times to have this account deleted from my credit files due to their errors but they keep saying no and that they are reporting accurate information. I still have 3 years with this account on my credit files unless they re-date the account and I just cant imagine what its going to reflect in the future.
My advice to everyone is just say NO TO GE MONEY BANK AND WAL-MART!

If you have a charged off account then it will stay on your credit report for up to 10 years. Easy solution to you problem is.......pay your bills!!

The account will show as a paid charge-off for 7 years from the time you paid the account off. They are not reseting the date each time you dispute this, they are telling you the date verified. It will also show the delinquency history on that particular account. I don't see any inacurate information from what you provided above for an account that was paid after charge-off. I have been in the financial services industry for several years and have looked at many credit reports. I too have had problems with inaccurate information in the past and I know what it looks like after a particular trade has been disputed.

I want to suggest that you contact Wal-Mart Corporate headquarters at http://www.walmartstores.com you can complete a feedback form online. Everytime I do I always get a call back from Wal-Mart or an e-mail reply. Also please contact the BBB at www.bbb.org they can help you to.
