This is a lie as they will charge you regardless---they want your MONEY!!!
The banks position is you authorized the charge by providing your credit card info.This is true as you believed their payment terms stated above.
The phone number the bank gives you..877-546-8510 is never answered...all you get is a fast busy tone so there is no way to contact them which is what they want!
