General Electric GE Brand new dishwasher - never used - motor fails and GE won't replace Costa Mesa CA
Recently I moved into a new construction townhome. While unpacking I attempted to use the dishwasher. Each time it did not flush the soap out nor did it dry the dishes. Only upon spending $108.95 did I discover that the never used applicance had a bad motor. Now they want another $480 for the motor of their applicance. I am stunned. In the meantime I have spent hours on calls, waiting for support and service.
This company WAS an American icon. I am horrified that they think this is an acceptable way to do business.
BTW their customer advocacy department is a joke. I had the displeasure of working with Ernestine. While she was following protocol she was domanieering and not remotely simpathetic to my experience, but judging by what I read on line this is constant. GE applicances - at least - are absolute garbage....I'd buy used before ever buying another GE applicance.

Why did they deny the claim?

There is something you are not telling us. Specifically what is the exact reason they are denying your claim.
As a guess does this have to do with how long this dishwasher was sitting around after purchase before you attempted to use it?
If so the warranty covers a specific amount of time after purchase, not after the first use. As there is no way to determine when it was first used. So if it had a 6 month warranty, but you didn't use it for 9 months the warranty has expired.
If it is something else, then what was it?
