I bought a top of the line stainless steel GE profile side by side refrigerator. The item was installed late December 2007. Four months later the exterior side wall is bulging out and is now pressing hard against a new tall cabinet wall and is pushing open the joint between the overhead cabinet and the wall. The interior wall is still straight. The change is 5/32 to 1/4 of an inch and is more but can not be measured. If I pull out the unit, I may not be able to get it back in.

GE was called out, tech claimed it was "cosmetic". This is ridiculous, I have never had a unit bulge at all. The case was moved up, and the woman stated the same. Tough luck, it's cosmetic. I was given the name for the next one up the line, he will be receiving a letter with pictures this week.

I will pursue this outside GE process if necessary. I believe the rigid foam that should be holding the interior and exterior walls parallel also has the cold water dispenser line that is leaking and freezing water in the cavity causing the seperation.
This is a defective product and must be replaced.
