My husband is a victim of Sallie Mae.  Let me explain, he attended UOP and dropped out due to an ulcer in 2001.  He was paying his debt through Edfund and Windham.  After the garnishment stopped with Edfund/Windham, Sallie Mae started garnishing without sending prior notice.  He called several numbers and finally got a hold of GRC who in turn told him that he was in default (once again without sending paperwork) and he would need to contact Sallie Mae to see how to get the loan out of default. Pretty funny, because GRC collects for Sallie Mae.  GRC are not professional, they are rude.  Might I add that he called a number that provides information on whether there loans that are delinquent or in default.  He found out that his loan was delinquent, NOT defaulted as GRC as told him.

I thought this was strange because if Edfund is collecting on debt, then why was Sallie Mae using GRC to collect on the same debt.  The amounts that are being collect on are within the same ballpark figure.
