After conducting a walk through on a fifth-wheel I was about to purchase, my father and I realized that it was not in the condition we thought. No attempt was made to clean, replace the rusty propane tanks, or the old and corroded batteries. Simple repairs inside the coach, such as loose screws, were not fixed. All things i believe should be done and included at no extra cost, unless it is being sold "as is", which it was not. We offered to buy for 21,000 pending repairs/replacements and our offer was declined. So we informed them we were no longer interested in purchasing and left.

I received the following angry email from our salesman the next morning: "Thought all night about what happened yesterday and I am pretty upset. We went through and spent a lot of money making that coach livable for you. If batteries need to be replaced then fine, propane tanks? I can do that as well. However, the roof is fine, no one has urinated on the couch. I can also have the carpets cleaned. The worst part is I had an offer just yesterday to buy that trailer for my list price but I am an honest guy who had to say no because it was sold. [finance] and I did our very best to get you into the right trailer at the right price.

This deal is between YOU and I and I will make it right.

The price is what it is, its 26K, like its always been

I will: Replace batteries Replace propane tanks Reseal some roof vents, as the technician recommends Professionally clean the carpets

I hope this works, Thanks"

I could not see where they "spent a lot of money" anywhere. The technician told me they did replace a water pump, and that is it as far as my father and I could tell. I'm positive that did not cost a lot of money, at last no where near the 26k I was about to give them! Shame on you General RV for letting your sales rep get angry with me for not buying a turd on wheels! Last I checked, I'm spending my money, not his.

Just read a few of the negative reports about the General RV outlet in Draper.  My folks live in Sandy at South Town Ranch and want to travel for their retirement.  I am supportive and helped them shop over there at General last time I visited.  It seemed okay.  But, after reading these reviews I think my wife and I are going back over to RV Four Seasons in Loveland and see what they might be able to do for us.  A friend from work told me about RV Four Seasons and he couldn't speak high enough of Steve Casey over there.  It's closer to us, so I'd have to work out more of the financial arrangements.  But, after reading this article I feel compelled to go with the RV Four Seasons folks.  Sure glad I did my homework this time!
