General Warranty Services, Consumer Direct Warranty Services, Mepco I will refund your down payment if I was not happy. Salem, Las Vegas, Chicago New Hampshire (GWS) NV(CDWS), IL.(Mepco)
Mark Russo, a representative from General Warranty Services, called me on the evening of December 26, 2008, wanting to sell me an extented warranty for my car. The warranty on my car was about to expire so I listened to what he had to offer. We were on the phone approxiatemently 45 minutes discussing the benefits of the warranty. I explained to Mark that I did not want to commit to anything unless I was able to look over the agreement on paper. He stated that he would have to charge my credit card the down payment of 299.00 before the system would allow him to send me the terms of the warranty for me to look over. I was not to worry though, if after looking over the agreement, if I was not happy with the terms of the agreement, I was just to call him (Mark) and he would refund my down payment of 299.00. On January the 5th, 2009, I went to my P.O. Box and found the material sent from General Warranty Services. When I opened it up the first line read; if this agreement is not return by mail in 5 days of the date that the company sent it, they would be keeping my 299.00. I interpeted that as the material I recieved that day needed to be back to them that day or I would loose my money. I immediately called the two phone number that had been left to me by Mark and Erin from General Warranty Services. These phone numbers were the numbers given to me on the night that my credit card was charged 299.00, with a promise that if I wanted to cancel and have my money returned, I should call them and they would assist me. On Jan. 5th I called both numbers many of times and left my telephone number to return my call. I have yet to get any returned calls from these two people. Because I did not recieve any call backs I also called American Express to disput the charges. It is now almost six months later, and I still have not recieved my money back, and General Warranty Services state that they will not give me my money back. I have named the other two companies, Consumer Direct Warranty Services, and Mepco, in this ripoff case, because their names also appear in the warranty package. I called both of them, when I was unable to reach anyone at General Warranty Services, and their position on the matter was that they have nothing to do with the dealings of General Warranty Services, and they are not going to get involved with the matter.
