Today I got a letter in the mail ostensibly from Genesis Forwarding Services IL. Included in the letter was a check payable to me in the amount of $4885. I was congratulated on being chosen a 'Mystery Shopper' and instructed to send $4350 to 'MIRANDA (My Last Name) in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada via MONEYGRAM and then "rate" the MONEYGRAM service on an included form which I was to fax to their number. Then I was to keep $300 and spend another $100 shopping at Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot, JC Penny, the Gap or Sears - keep what I bought and send another form rating the place I shopped. I was told I would then be 'on their payroll" and would make $400 a month - rating companies and, after 6 months on the job I woulc begin making $450 a month.

THANK GOD - did a Google search and found Ripoff Report's website. On this website I learned that this 'Mystery Shopper' business was a scam - that it had fooled many people and that those people had lost a lot of their money when the check came back "insufficent funds". If not for RipOff Report I would have been on my way to the poorhouse! I am keeping the check and letters these ripoff artists sent me and would gladly send them to any law enforcement agncy or lawyer. Thanks, Ripoff Report for saving my bacon!!!
