Complaint Review: Genie Car Wash Oil & Lube

Each of my daughters took there car to be washed at Genie on Shea Blvd and each presented the attendant a $7.99 Full Service Car Wash coupon and asked for that specific special cars wash. Once they reached the cashier, they were told that they could only receive $5 off the $15.99 car wash. They told the cahier that they had asked the attendant for the $7.99 special. The cashier said that the attendant check a different box. Both my daughters were there at the exact same time and witnessed each other ask for the $7.99 car wash.

My daughters explained this to the cashier and she replied there is nothing she could do and if they wanted there cars they would have to pay $10.99. Being ages 17 & 20 they complied. Upon their return home and after they explained to me what happened, I called the manager at Genie car Wash. He was rude and said that they must have asked for a better car wash. As I informed him, both were there at the same time and witnessed what each had said ... his reply was, "its not my fault if your daughters did not know what the attendant had put on the slip."

He proceeded to tell me that there was nothing he could do about this and that it never happened before. I informed him, it just happened twice and suggested that he have a discussion with his staff. He told me not to worry about his staff. Unfortunately, I do worry about people. Especially in these trying economic times. People need to stop trying to take advatage of every opportunity to squeeze aother buck out of a situation and start remembering the golden rule. Bottom line: the lost a customer and for the rest of you... be aware of these nasty tactics!!!
