Complaint Review: Genie Company

I purchased a Genie garage door opener at Lowes. I scheduled the professional installation also through Lowes. In June 2005, it was installed. It worked for almost a week. The unit would not work for more than a second, before shutting down.

The genie company gave me a local company to handle the "warranty" work. I was billed $130 to repair a faulty board for a product I just bought. I thought it was too much work to tear everything down to return the product. I thought the company would make good on their product. I was wrong. So, I paid almost the price of a new opener.
