Just a warning to anybody planning on purchasin a garage door opener.

Genie does not carry the replacement parts in any major hardware store. I've gone though hell trying to get the safety sensors replaced for my unit. One of their authorized dealerships came out and offered to replace these units for 150.00, the parts basically cost 25.00. You can order these units from Genie, but for overnight service plan on adding on an additional 35.00 Craftsman on the other had have all replacement parts available at all Home Depots and Lowe's and I might add they are even lower in cost.

I will be switching out this consumer rip off for a Craftsman. Genie just doesn't care to make servicing their equipment easy or cheap for the consumer.

Genie garage door openers are the cheapest made, in other words, you get what you pay for, so-to-speak. The best openeers you could possibly by would be any (((REDACTED))) . These manufactures have interchanging parts, therefore, you never have to worry about trying to find parts. There everywhere. Good luck.

sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company your comments on this policy are welcome! Went looking for a new garage door opener this morning at Home Depot. They had a whole bunch of sensors and other parts: remotes and such, in bins right above the boxes containing the garage door openers.
