Complaint Review: Genius Services Inc.

These guys are the biggest scam in Michigan. They claim to sell cheap/used refurbished resturaunt equipment via auction on their website (theauctiongenius.com) but as it turns out, the real money is made by having their own staff on the site bidding on the products which only increases the amount customer's have to pay.

I called them and told them that I didn't really trust online auctions and would rather buy from them direct. They gave me their address (1450 Academy Street, Ferndale MI 48220). When I got there, there were 2 heavy-set guys with heavy arab accents. They tried selling me an item (deli cooler) that was clearly broken. I insisted on another model which looked and worked just fine.

10 days into our remodel at the resturuaunt where the unit was shipped, it caught fire. I called them and told them about the issue and they said that ALL SALES ARE FINAL. In reality, they assured me that if I wasn't 100% happy with the product they would replace it for another or try to fix it for me.

Turns out, I'm not the only one with a bad experience. They were doing business in Birmingham, MI and they had to both move and change their company name. They are famous for their bad business and their shaddy website... STAY AWAY!!!
