Genral Motors My 2001 Alero will not start when the ignition light blinks. Ferndale, Michigan
I brought my Alero to the dealer several times .
I have changed the igniton switch as they stated purchased a new battery the problem did not cease.I contacted a local T V station (Ruth to the Rescue) and they gave me an executive to contact. I did (Lisa Watson 313-667-7153) she stated when the car would not start to have it Towed to the dealer which I did and was told again there was nothing wrong with my car.I also towed it to a Auto shop in my city .I then went on line and looked up this problem and seen all the complaints from other owners of the Alero having the same problem .I took the advice of several owners by putting the igniton in the on position,waiting until the ignition light stops blinking and it will start .Well it does but being late for a family funeral and several appointments has really become a pain.The thing of it is it doesn't do this all the time .I call it the 'Alero Game' I carry several magazines in my car just in case.
Then the car companies wonder why we Americans are turning to forgein auto companies for our purchases.I WILL NEVER EVER purchase another American made car again .Exspecially a GM !.
