Geo Holiday is definitely the BIGGEST SCAM WHICH EVER EXISTED and whoever says the opposite works there. My husband and I have been very naive not to research about the company before attending the presentation near Pearson airport and here we are paying a big price. They misled us there one year ago and we ended up signing the contract. This is the worst thing that can happen in anyone's life; believe me. Even jail is better for you'll be out after you serve your time.

During the next week, we realized that we didn't think through as we should because of the pressure they put on us. We then called them back few days later to cancel our membership; we were very surprised to hear that we couldn't because we had 10 days to do so, thing they never told us during the two hours we spent there and that if we wanted to go to court, they would win because of their experience in the matter.

As of December of last year, we paid them more than $5000 but we decided it was enough and that we would do whatever is possible to stop them from doing other victims. We're currently looking for other people, especially from Toronto, GTA who have the same issue to share our experiences. We got advises as what can we do but I don't want to unveil them here because I don't want employees from geo holiday to know what big surprise we're preparing. This is very important so please, come forth!

Everywhere else when you want to cancel a contract, you pay cancellation fees and you're out; THERE IS NO REASON FOR THIS COMPANY TO IMPEDE US FROM USING OUR RIGHT AND MOST IMPORTANTLY WHEN NEITHER THEIR CREDITS NOR THEIR FREE TRIP WAS USED.THIS IS SIMPLY ORGANIZED ROBBERY.

Hello to you Robbery Victim in Toronto.  I read your post here and am interested in finding out how to become involved with your fight against this company.  I to was scammed into signing a contract (actually lied to) in Vegas.  I have since made no payments other than initial downpayment and don't intend to.  Expect collections agents to begin harrassment shortly but don't care.  I am fighting this one to the bitter end.  I live in Ottawa but would like to know where you stand in the process.

Good afternoon,

I can empathize with your plight.  I currently hold a vacation club timeshare through GeoHoliday that I reluctantly got in September of 2007 (I was overwhelmed and in tears after the high-pressure seminar/face to face meeting).  To date, I have incurred over $22,000 which is everything paid in full with the exception of the 2010 Membership Dues (which I refuse to remit until I have an idea of what recourse I have). I contacted the Ministry of Consumer Services prompt and understand from them that I should have had a lawyer review the contract before signing. However, people are never given the opportunity to take the materials home without agreeing right on the spot because as they stated "the offer is only good for one day, never to be offered again". Just in October I was called back into their offices again where they offered an extension to the current program which would have cost me an additional $6,000. This time I declined as with my current financial situation and that of my family (my father lost his job in May and my mother received notice that her position will be phased out shortly; my company implemented a pay freeze) I am just not able to afford any further expenses. I would like to cancel the membership as within the past 2 years I have not had any opportunity to use any of my vacation credits (25,000 of which are subject to expire in January 2010).  I was advised to write GEO and request a cancellation, as I have never used anything there is nothing that they can threaten me with as I owe GEO nothing (except $456 USD for annual fees due December 15th).  According to my discussion with Ms. Betty Eisenstadt on December 1st, there is now a $1,000 penalty that she "was not obligated to notify members existed". I am currently in the process of drafting my letter and have requested that GEO provide me with a copy of the minutes addressing the change in contract provisions (as per Ms. Eisenstadt the meeting minutes are available to all members). I have been reasing some of the other posts and will be more than happy to band together in an class action suit.  I have lost well over $22,000 of my hard-earned money, endured many sleepless nights and mental anguish, have been inconvenienced, and cried many tears over the decision I made two years ago....under severe pressure.

I have felt the same way for over a year and until just recently thought GEO Holiday was behind us. We signed up for a trill membership with the otion to sign a full membership after a year. Well we decided not to continue it and spoke with someone over the phone when they called to invite us back. We were advised to just send a letter saying we would not be paying our dues. Which we did and had not heard from them in over 3 months. Until this past week. They are going to send us to collections for over due payment. And for the first time today they talked about a $1000 cancellation few????? but if we just paid out dues they would wave that few??? Right until next year I'll bet. I am unsure of what to do after hanging up the phone and will have to wait for my husband to get home but found this Ripoff report and wondered if you have been able to resolve the issue?
