Hello, I am new to this so please bear with me if it seems I am ranting a bit (I am filing this report after another unsatisfactory conversation with GEOnline's Customer Service).

The start, my wife and her sister fraudulently obtained a revolving account with this company (my wife used her sisters name to make a purchase there by opening up this account in her sisters name).

When I found out about this I tried to get it reversed, i.e. I had my wife call these people up and explain that this account was improperly opened. I also spoke with CS at that time and told them it was fraudulently opened, got nowhere.

Wife and sister sticking me with this bill, had me setup a way to make payments on this account (GE wouldn't close it even though it should never been allowed to be opened).

Purchase was for carpet on some 2 year no interest plan, wife and sister had planned to have it installed into my house without my consent or approval. And yes, I am well aware that California is a community property state.

Have called several more times (GEOnline) to make sure I was not going to be responsible for any further part of this bill, I provided them with the account number, name on account, informed them that I am the only one who has online access to this account (even though it is not in my name, and I am nowhere on it at all).

1. They will not provide anyone with any phone number or direct mailing address for their legal department.

2. Supervisor has hung up on me when requesting this information.

3. They have informed me that they would never accept any payments from anyone other than the card holder. Blatently untrue.

4. Despite informing them numerous times that this account was fraudulently opened, and showing them positive proof that this account has been compromised they have not put any kind of hold on this account, nor do I beleive they have informed the account holder that this account has been compromised.

Now from the above, legally the very last complaint listed is probably the most worrisome to the average person. I had thought that if the account was compromised they were supposed to put a hold on the account and notify the account holder.

I have informed them several times that I can access this account online, that I and only I have made any kind of payments on this account, that I did not care if they would not give me any information on the account due to privacy rights as long as I would not be held liable for any of the charges on this account even though it was my wife, who with her sister, opened this account fraudulently.

I am currently going to write the only address they would give me, and hope that I will not continue to get the run around with this company and that someone will put me in touch with their legal department.

FYI, I still can access the account online which is how I know they have not put a hold on it even though I have told several customer service agents that I had access to it. I am fairly sure they have not informed the card holder as I think they would have taken some sort of steps to revoke my online viewing of this account (domestic dispute where I have had both my wife and her sister removed from my house.
