We had a flood in our home and were looking for short term rental. We came across George Gomez add on craigs list. We spoke and he seemed pretty up front. We told him our situation and he said no problem just use your south Florida drivers liscense as they don’t rent to locals. We agreed to pay him 1800.00 He told us we could move into unit on Monday and every day was a new excuse. He finally said he would meet us at the property on Friday at 9:30 am. Earlier that morning I was checking my email and noticed a cancellation. I called him and asked what it was about. He said they canceled due to none signed contract.
We did contract electronically. For over a month we have been getting our payment back. He still owes us 250.00. We had to pay for a new rental as we needed a place to stay. We then started to research him and found out this wasn’t his first rodeo in scamming people. We are going to file charges with state and county officials. This is purely principle now.
