Complaint Review: George Young dba George Young Apartments

George and Cindy Young seem like such a nice couple. Older and hard working-they and their children Kristen and Scott are "all hands on" landlords.

After pursuing me, aggressively to rent from them, I was flattered. yes, I had perfect credit, a great job, no debt and could easily afford overpriced house they had just built. They asked $5k, but it was a $2000 unit in Culver City, poorly built, cheap appliances. The second Agent pushed harder-"what can they do? They want you to move in!"

So, we settled rent on $4000 month, plus water, gas, cable, etc. house was ugly but new is NEW and they were so darned nice!  Just prior to signing lease, realized work was unfinished on landscape, plumbing, etc. So I asked if they could use extra time to finish property. George said "no!  We will be finished, shortly. Let's sign, as planned. Cindy is having window coverings ordered today, after your approval, the rest will be done over the weekend."

There were no windiw coverings in 2400 sft of home surrounded by families with children. Aftee weeks of "ordering today!" It was clear that if I wanted privacy, I would be facilitating window coverings.

And I did. Wasn't reimbursed-not for ANYTHING. about $400 in windows,

week 2: received $4500 area rugs, rug pads. drilling into wall on spot and Cindy & George thought it was a "great idea." they wanted me to decorate, personalize, invest..... And I did. 

while drilling hit the sprinkler system, flooded the house so badly (6 inches of water) the Young's refused profession cleanup...even at my cost. And yes-I was willing to pay. Instead, they hung out my rugs-2400 square feet of them-on the front porch. It took more than a week to dry. Truthfully, brand new rugs were ruined. Destroyed. They didn't care. house looked like hurricane Katrina, and went downstairs to my new office.  Had business booked out for a month. 

What did I find? 

....one of these only 3 times the size. as per the Exterminator "honey, you have an infestation of venomous spiders. It will be months to control it. I found 7 species in this room, alone!" 

We were in my OFFICE. 

NO, the YOUNG's did not fumigate, tent the house or anything remotely close. The infestation was horrifying and the picture above was taken from my front door 10 months later. 

Dishwasher was defective, brand new. They waited 6 months and let me purchase my own DW, only to find bizarre, invasive plumbing behind DW, did they finally return the defective one (at no cost) for the new cheap one that did, in fact work. But the $2k spent on my dishwasher, which somehow could not be returned, was not bothering them.

In addition to the VENOMOUS SPIDER ISSUE was my investment of top of the line WASHER AND DRYER, piggybacked water, gas and cable lines to their daughters unit on same property. losing time, money by boatload..... Spiders-unresolved- they had never (9months into lease) completed the landscape. It was loose dirt, filthy and the supposed reason for the infestation of spiders. 10 months passed and $4000 monthly, plus ALLL THE REST, they were unconcerned about never having guests, working out of house-or not, as it were...but every month right about 1st George Young would appear to be working on something, on property....until at least 11pm. 9 am to 11pm or whenever he got the check

now I don't know what's wrong with these scavengers fronting as landlords or business-people. Truly-I don't. But when I finally took a stand, FINALLY AFTER ALL THEIR SNOOPING, sucking up every penny they could out of me amd literally NEVER FULFILLING THEIR END PER AGREEMENT-they evicted me, without serving me..... YES THEY WERE PAID. YES-they had $4000 deposit! No, I was not in court to defend myself because these scumbags didn't have the decency or courtesy to mention that they were preceding with an illegal anddishonest eviction.

They literally told the WHOLE NEIGHBORHOOD-strangers-slandering me so severely and unexpectedly-total strangers lined up in front if my house to "document" me moving out via video and camera. like twilite zone!!!

I STILL HAVE NO IDEA WHAT ANY OF THIS IS ABOUT. they are HORRIBLE PEOPLE! George and Cindy Young of Culver City are predatory, use their kids for communication to offset liability. These freaks RUINED MY CREDIT-RUINED my life and ability to rent when I was ready to PURCHASE A HOME!

As I drove away, from a security guard, doorless house.... clearly the $60,000 paid to these blood sucking pigs was an indication that I was going to take.... Oh right- EVERYTHING WAS MINE....

As as I drove away, my home, thrown into boxes, storage units, watched by a security guard.... Neighborscontinuously documenting my every move, reporting back (right in front of me!) to Cindy Young... As I had not paid over $60,000 to live in their hurricane, venomous spider infested shell of a home.... I looked over at a home they inherited a few months, prior. And this is what I saw.
