Complaint Review: Georgia Medical Institute

Georgia Medical Institute "talks a good game" until they get you signed up as a student for "rip-off" prices $2,000-$4,000 more than you can get a Better education elsewhere...and... their priority is not your education; it is your dollars!!

I recently signed up for massage therapy school as a dream to start a second career and chose GMI because of a wonderful teacher that I met there. I did not "shop prices" because of the convenience of the school location and because I was so stricken with knowledge of that teacher. Once I started to school, I realized the school was just trying to keep their student ratio up rather than being concerned about educating me in what I needed to know; didn't care about my teachers. In the short time I was there, I lost almost half my TOTAL TUITION because of the "paperwork I signed" and the school ran through two great teachers due to "policy changes" and not to mention there were students in my class that were basically rude and obnoxious.

The environment was not positive for learning because of stressed out teachers, some rude students that wouldn't be quiet while the teacher was speaking, and "business office staff visits" relating to money. Otherwise we rarely saw anyone from the business office. I will be returning to massage school but not at GMI.

Please do not make the same mistake and throw away thousands of dollars as I did by going to Georgia Medical Institute. They have their priorities in the wrong place!! This school has many facilities around Atlanta, Georgia; and is affiliated with Corinthians College. BEWARE!
