GeoVera Insurance Getting the runaround, can't get our $ back St. Petersburg Florida

 GeoVera is the underwriter our insurance company(Nationwide) uses.  Our insurance $ is escrowed with our mortgage.

We received a renewal that was increased by over $1400.00.  When we call our local insurance carrier to try to get in straightened out they had to contact Geovera.  It was discovered that it was a "glitch" and they said it should be taken care of in two days.  Well after two weeks of going round and round we cancelled our renewal policy with our local carrier.  They said they would process the cancellation that day and it would take 7-10 business days to get our money back.

We waited 4 business days to follow through with GeoVera to make sure they received the paperwork and to find out when they would be sending our check back to us so we could pay our new insurance carrier.  They put us off for several days with one excuse after another.  When we finally did get someone to give us an answer, they told us we would not be getting our $ back for at least another 8 weeks. 

At the time of our first phone call to GeoVera, they had already cashed the check for our renewal policy that our mortgage company had sent them.  This check was cashed six weeks prior to the renewal date of our policy.  They will not give us back the money that they received that far in advance of the renewal policy.
