I was originally contacted early in 2006 by Gerald E. Moore's office and was told they represent a credit card company. We had gone through a rough time five years ago and this company would not work with us; they preferred to "charge-off".

The woman at Gerald E. Moore told me the lender was willing to work with me - GREAT! I set up five monthly electronic checks. After the checks went through, I was again contacted. By that time I was working part-time and had a lower income. I told them I could not pay the amount they wanted, but would make smaller payments. They demanded that I refinance my house and give them the money. When I refused, he hung up.

I checked online and realized that I had been duped - this debt was charged off years ago. At that time I put a cancel on the next six check numbers in the series I had originally given them (in case they tried to put another check through).

After three months of ignoring their phone calls, Gerald E. Moore put a completely different check number through my account. We have closed that account, filed fraud paperwork and contacted the Attorney General of Texas.

If you have dealt with this company, and they have your checking account number, GET THE ACCOUNT CLOSED AND REOPEN A NEW ONE. These people do not care about following the law. They did not send the required letter of intent to deposit the check.
