For anyone who is considering getafreelancer... beware!

Here's what happened to me. I had a project posted and the vendor did not complete it. I called and email and no answer from this vendor for over 2 weeks.

So you would think that it should be an open and shut case. Cancel account and release escrow and start from ground zero. Wrong!!!

First you have to send about 20 emails to getafreelancer just for them to cancel your project.. you would think that they would release escrow. Wrong again!!

Now they say you have to contact the vendor. Remember this is the same vendor who has not responded to my emails or phone calls for 2 weeks.

this is a completely unprofessional company. probably some "mom and pop" operation. btw, there is no contact info anywhere on the site, no physical address, phone number etc... probably for good reason!

My advice is to go with elance or rentacoder instead.

oh, btw I still haven't got my money back. Next step is going to be contacting my credit card company....

We ask the both service buyer and provider to come to a compromise. In case the work is undone and there's no response from the provider, the escrow is returned to the service buyer.
