Giant Van Lines is an egregious outfit that takes total advantage of consumers who are putting their faith in an organization that is utterly ruthless. They estimated a move based on a three bedroom house and increased that by guessing at the site and sending weight receipts two months after the fact with exactly the same poundage noted. I had to call Giant to find out if they were planning on showing up to move us. The man I contacted was no longer there. They had no record of my moving request. I had one conversation with their dispatcher (who is also no longer there) and the rest were conducted with me and the driver. After an accident, where a man was killed, they were extremely unhelpful and dumped the onus on me, calling me unsympathtic. The "President" in totally unreachable. I would suggest that all consumers tap into a Channel 5 (Washington) interview with the "President" of Giant. It all becomes quite clear. Every employee that I talked with was rude and aggressive.

Giant sub-contracted without our knowledge to Flux Trans. of Florida. An accident ensued in Florida. A man was killed. Our goods were impounded, unloaded and reloaded approx. 4 times. There were alleged connections with unsavory people, all of which, of course, Giant denied.

Our goods were delivered 4 days later badly damaged and/or destroyed. We were missing items since they were mixed up with a load bound for Miami. A truck with no inside lights arrived to unpack and had to return the next day at an extra charge to us. Flux gave me an incorrect insurance carrier at the time of the accident.

In good faith, we tipped every worker, most of whom could not communicate. This move presented an extravagent loss, both physically, emotionally, financially and materially.
