My guitar was sent to Gibson repair department to install a decal and re-lacquer the head stock. It came back defective. It was sent back and it returned in worse shape. I filed a complaint with the BBB and wrote a certified letter to the president,
Henry Juszkiewicz. The corporate office never contacted me and ignored the BBB investigation. The repair department agreed to take back the guitar a third time. Jason Davidson said that a evaluation would be made before any work was done.

I inquired about the evaluation but nobody told me what the evaluation was. They just went ahead and installed a wider nut (what the strings run over near the head stock) This alteration interferes with the truss rod cover, a  screw hole now is too close to the nut preventing the installation of the cover. In addition, the touch-up stain they used does not match the original color. The gibson logo inlay has a crack that they didn't fix as well. At the time This was a new guitar that now has flaws caused by these bums.  I think the money I invested ($665) for installing a 1 inch long decal is a ripoff.

The repair department manager is Todd Money The service department manger is Jason Davidson.

Installing a new nut without the strings

It was stupid of Gibson to install a new nut. I shipped the guitar without the strings. The original nut
was fitted at the factory with new strings. The idiot in repair  just made a cheap kludge fix and put on
a wider nut. But did not install any strings. I also noticed that the lacquer on the face has indentations
at the position of all six tuner holes. Obviously it was their clamping jig that made the marks. Another
flaw from their work.

I visited Guitar Showcase in San Jose and talked to the manager about all that has happened. I learned
from him that the last time they had sold a Les Paul Supreme was over two years ago. Good to know that
fact.

Here is where the repair installed a under-sized face. Notice the purfling and edging does not meet
at the nut. There is a 1/16 inch gap. I believe this is when the "Gibson" inlay got cracked, between the
"G' and 'i'. The other inlays where smeared with black stain. Looks like a trainee did the work, surely not the
work of a professional.
