On November 13, 2002, I received a phone message from one of my Gibson creditors. They stated that my account was past due and that I had been kicked out of their credit counseling program due to 65 days of nonpayment.

This was news to me. I told them that I would call Gibson and have Gibson call the creditor. Phone calls, faxes, and an email were sent to Gibson about this problem. The email was returned as undeliverable. The fax and phone calls went unanswered.

I recently discovered that I was one month behind on payments to Citibank and MBNA. I paid them last week and made arrangements to work with them directly from now on. I explained to them that my bill paying service had apparently defaulted and had not made my most recent payments.

I have begun working with an attorney on my own, having requested her advice and a certified letter to Gibson, from the law firm, explaining their recent actions with my account.

I have instructed my bank to stop the preauthorized checking account draft for the money that was going to Gibson each month

I'm afraid to check my credit report, for fear of what this situation has done to my credit history. It just makes me sick. I started with Gibson to get out of a bad situation. It seems things have gone from bad to worse and I'm just going to have to dig myself out.
