I have a giftcard given to me for $500.  Like most giftcards are, they are gifts and unwanted and does not come with gift receipts. I decided to sell them to giftcardrescue instead of cardpool out of better judgement because giftcardrescue paid a little better. (i have a good experience with cardpool).

After sending them the card, it took them time to acknowledge, then after confirming they received the card they gave me this run around about requiring more information.  I fully obliged.  Giving them a copy of my drivers license etc.  after 1-2 weeks as I followed up, they sent me a message.

"We are unable to purchase your giftcard at this time due to lack proof of purchase, suspicious explanation, or possibilty of the gift card obtained through fraudulent means."

My question is, who really has proof of purchase from a giftcard, you usually dont buy giftcards for yourself? And what bright minded criminal gives a copy of their drivers license.

Please also be aware that in their fine print they mention that "if you do not claim your giftcard within 30 days it is considered abandoned and donated to giftcardrescue".  what a load of BS.  They are counting that you will "gift" them a giftcard.

Just stay away from this company.  You are better off with Cardpool. I sold giftcard to them and I get paid in no time without any further questions asked.

They are totally scamming you. There is absolutely no reason for them to ask for a copy of your driver's license, unless they're planning on stealing your identity. What on earth would your driver's license tell them about your gift card?? And their message is ridiculous, they have no way of knowing the card was fraudulently obtained. They just wanted to steal your gift card.
