GiftCardRescue.com GiftCardRescue Kwame Kuadey Shark Tank Beware Of This Company!!! Shady, Sketchy, Scam, Flim-Flam, Runaround...Rip-Off!!! Columbia Maryland
Gift cards have become such a big craze in this day & age that there is now an entire "cash for gift cards" cottage industry. There are many conveninetly located establishments & proprietors who will will purchase gift cards, however they don't always give you the best return. Hence, consumers will seek other alternatives....
The online services seem to give the best deals. I came across GiftCardRescue.com because the place I normally use doesn't buy the particular gift card I was selling this time. GiftCardRescue.com offered a great deal, an awesome amount of return, were located right "next door" in Maryland, plus their webpage boasts affiliations/associations with Inc. Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, CBS, NPR, SmartMoney, & Shark Tank...Quite an impressive list of references, huh? I wonder how all of these reputable sponsors & references would feel if they knew how much of a RIP-OFF this "company" is?
I set up an account & completed the transaction online, as I have done many times with my normal company & others, then I mailed the 2 gift cards to their address. There's always a period of uncertainity when first dealing with an online company, but I was relieved when about 7-10 later, I received a confirmation e-mail that they had received the gift cards & the order was being processed. Then about a week later, I received another e-mail advising me the my order was complete & that the check was being mailed out.
SO...That was back at the beginning of April. We are now at the beginning of June, & I have yet to receive my check!!! Of course, when I hadn't received the check within 3-5 business days of receiving that e-mail, I immediately called customer service. The guy informed me that the check hadn't been cut yet. When I informed him that I had already received an e-mail stating that the check was sent, he stated that the checks are mailed out within 10 days of the e-mail saying that the check had been mailed out...That's when the bells & flags & whistles in my brain started.
Once I had it in my head that they were giving me the runaround, I became relentless, calling them every 3 days: And everytime I called, I was given a different story: We have to wait 10 days before reissuing a check. We have to wait 30 days before reissuing a check. We have to investigate on our end what happened. That is, when I could actually reach a live human being on the phone!!! For a company that has 3 different phone numbers, it's next to impossible to reach anyone. You are either put on hold, hung up on, or directed to voice mail. Now when you call any of the numbers, they ring & ring, & ring, reconnect you, place you on hold, then ring, ring, ring....
I will not give up. I will continue to call them, e0-mail them, & I am going to report this "company" to every outlet I can -- I may even contact Inc Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, CBS, NPR, SmartMoney, & Shark Tank & advise them that this place is using their good names to scam people...I see that others have had similar experiences. Beware, Beware, Beware!!!
FYI the company CEO is names Kwame Kuadey....Just a warning in case you see that name linked to any other online business ventures.
