Gillece Plumbing , Heating Cooling & Electrical Inc False Advertising Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
The company advertises with a $30 off any service coupon in the phone book. When you tell them you have a coupon, they give some doubletalk nonsense as to why the coupon doesn't apply. They also state same day service guaranteed or your visit is free. When they cannot meet the same day service, they give some doubletalk nonsense as to why the service is not free. Everything they do is an attempt to reel you in but not make good on their promises. It sounds like the company gives good service reasonably priced but its really just a scam. The company is a ripoff!!!

As a former employee of the company I wanted to tell you, and hopefully some others, how the scam really works, there is a way to beat it. 1. the same day service or the next day is free slogan thats so highly advertised, is actually true, BUT theres some fine print... 2. when calling in to schedule the appointment, you MUST be available all day! if you agree to one of the 8-12 12-4 or 4-8 time frames you automatically dont qualify for the offer 3. your issue MUST be considered an EMERGENCY i.e. a/c broken on a 100 degree day, basement flooding with sewage etc. 4. if you do stay within those guideliines only the $95 dispatch fee is waived, the service fees still apply 5. if you do all that and you are re-scheduled a second time, the offer is void, even though its their fault 6. if you request to have emergency service, there are additional dispatch fees and higher labor rates, so be careful how you explain your situation to the call taker 7. be prepared to wait all day, or even be re-scheduled repeatedly, day after day... the dispatchers are trained to send the technicians to high paying jobs ONLY doesnt even matter if they have a technician available at your neighbors house, hes gonna get sent across the city to a higher paying job and youll be set aside til theres absolutely no other profitable work for a technician to do, they arent concerned with the little guy, just the big fish, installs of new equipment that THEY SOLD/Financed and Mr. Gillece's rental properties take priority 8. every technician is pushed to sell, if you have leaky pipes, theyre gonna try to sell you new ones, old a/c giving you trouble? theyre gonna try to sell you one, theyre told to treat every repair as a sales oppurtunity, theyre even given large bonus's when they do sell, everything from paid days off, to huge cash hand outs and vacations 9. EVERY job carries a $95 dispatch fee, and hourly rates range anywhere from $75 to $500 plus (varies on the details of the job), the only exception is the $95 dispatch/$99 service for drain cleaning specials 10. in the summer time technicians are NOT allowed in attics/crawl spaces after 12 (noon) any roof/climbing work will incurr a large access fee, and all but 1 truck is equipped with a small 20' ft ladder, if you have anything taller, you have to cross your fingers and hope someone with a larger ladder comes in that day 11. someone mentioned they were taken to court for a delinquent fee, their lawyers will and do pursue ALL delinquent payments regardless of the dollar amount, when people hung up on us in the dispatch center because they thought they were being charged un fairly, people would joke about them getting sued like it was funny or something... If that hasnt kept you from calling them yet, take into consideration the Better Business Bureau rates companies on an A+ to F scale, and the Gillece Co has been rated with an F and they also have literally hundreds of registered complaints, many of which are un resolved, on file, for you to see.
