Complaint Review: Girls’ Life Magazine

I worked as a makeup artist for Girls' Life Magazine on July 20, 2019 and my rate was $240. After completing my job, I sent in my invoice for net 30 and then received an email back weeks later saying they do net 120. So I changed my invoice and sent an updated one.

Once days came around, I still hadn't received my check. I sent another round of emails with no response until weeks later saying it was net 120 once the issue lands in newsstands. In my over 20 years experience as a makeup artist, I have never heard of such a policy. I let the client know and she let me know that is their policy.

I told her that is something you let people who work for know once they have been hired. I don't have this in a contract from them, but they do have a contract from me, which they have not followed. Because if that my contract automatically adds a late fee. So now the total due is $264.
