Jennifer ROBinson told me she could find my birth mother! I paid her the Non-refundable $200 and didn't hear from her again. I emailed her threatening legal action and what do you know! She found my mother- if fact, she had (made up) the information when I called her. SHE LIES TO MOST OF HER VICTIMS IN THIS SAME MANNER! My father's name went from John to Jeff in the same conversation. She'll tell you she's not in the office and to send the rest of the money and she'll send it to you when she gets back in.

She told me to send the other $200 via Paypal and she would put the documents in an email and mail it via US Postal Service. I did this immediatelty-within 5 miniutes of her telling me. I have this in writting from her. That was June 2008. It is August 2008- I still have not received any information from her. She does not return my phone calls or emails.

She claims that she called my biological grandparents and guess what- they want nothing to do with me so she doesn't want to give the information. Sound familiar? I never gave her permission to contact anyone. I didn't even want to contact them. I just wanted a name.

I filed a Paypal dispute and won. She emptied her Paypal account so she wouldn't have to pay me back. I still have not gotten my money back.

Stay away from Jennifer Robinson, all of her various other names, givenright.com, and ANYONE affiliated with this scam!

Search Angels will help you find your family for free. I wish I had know that before I got ripped off by givenright.com and Jennifer. I have heard some upsetting things from REAL search angels about Jennifer's conduct that makes REAL search angels look bad.

A true angel will not ask you for money- and remember- Lucifer was once an angel too!

If you have been ripped off by givenright.com:
1. If you paid by Paypal, file a dispute no matter how much time has passed.
2. File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission online.
4. File a complaint with the internet complaint crime center online-this links with the FBI.
5. If you paid by credit card-file a dispute!

I also have a list of 5 others that she has done this to, and I know someone else who has a list of 18. There are so many she has done this to!

Even the Better Business Bureau agrees with givenright.com

This individual has not been satisfied with smearing the reputation of myself and my company across the internet, but has also lodged a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well. The BBB did a thorough investigation and received several documents proving that we had fulfilled our contractual obligations and provided the information that was paid for, thus the complaint against us was dismissed.

Given Right Did Not Complete My Search, I Did!

I wrote the original complaint. I never signed a contract, so comments about the contract are useless.

Jennifer claimed she spoke to my birth grandparents in Pasagoula, Mississippi, said my father's name was Jeff/John, she also gave a last name of my biological father and first and last names of biological materal grandparents, said everyone was from Cleveland, and said my bmom is in "Arabia". This is all in emails.

My birthgrandparents are dead and have been for years, my father's name is not John/Jeff, no one is/was from Cleveland, and my birthmom was never in "Arabia". I think Jennifer meant Saudi Arabia, and she's not there either.

On August 21, I went to Columbus Ohio and searched the birthrecords and found the last name myself. Not Jennifer or Givenright. I called her receptionist and told her the name. After I TOLD HER the information, I got an email with it. All of this- every lie, every time stamp of phone calls, etc. is available for proof. Not to mention the fact that my name is on record in Columbus at Vital Statistics and what I was searching.

Jennifer promised me my birth father's name and license information. I have not recieved it- probably because I haven't given it to her to give to me.

So yes, Jennifer sent me an email with a name- after I gave it to her receptionist in the first place. Even I can do a search if someone gives me the name. In other words, I did my own search, not givenright.

I am curious to know how Jennifer came up with the name of Jeff/John T. and all the other fake names she gave me.

GivenRight.com success story - they are NOT liars

#9Consumer Comment

Fri, September 26, 2008

Someone said that GivenRight.com was a liar. I do not feel that they are. I used this company to conduct a search for my daughter that I placed for adoption 20 years ago. I researched several search companies online before choosing GivenRight.com. I chose them because of their competitive price, their professional manner, and their friendliness when speaking with them.

Now only did they find my daughter, but they found her in a matter of hours after I contracted with their company. I paid them deposit and my final payment both on the same day, and I have been completely satisfied with their company. I have had nothing but joy in their service and a sense of completion to my family.

I would recommend this company to anyone searching for a family member who has been separated by adoption.

I wish you only success in your searching. I know that this company has been in business since 1989 and is owned and operated by both an adoptee and a birth-mother, so the search is very personal to her. She treats these searches with the utmost respect and professionalism.

GIVENRIGHT.COM IS A LEGITIMATE BUSINESS

What a bunch of bologna coming from somebody who already got the information they paid for! Shame on you for not updating this pitiful rant.

I had a great experience with givenright.com. I hired them to find my sister that was placed for adoption before I was born and they found her. I chose givenright because their rates were much more reasonable than any other search company I found online. I got more information than I ever hoped for (sister's name, address, phone number, adoptive parent's names, brother's name, myspace page with pictures, etc). I feel like I ripped them off!

I know you signed a contract just like I did. The contract said they had 90 days to work on a case and that the retainer was non-refundable. Just because you didn't get things your way or in your time doesn't mean that this company is a scam.
