Just today, my fiancee had noticed that this company had charged my card twice for a utility payment and had called to ask some questions. It was communicated to him, that since I was the card holder, that I would need to call them to take care of the issue. My first attempt at calling, I was hung up on after being on hold for 20 minutes. My second try, I was told that my payment made to the electric company went through however, there were two additional pending transaction ($156.35 plus a payment charge of $1.65) for the same amount just paid, and in order to receive my funds back, the electric company had to fax over a 'Release Letter' because it was the electric company's 'fault' for this pending payment. Feeling frustrated, I hung up and called the electric company. The electric company stated that they received my payment and they do not deal with 'pending' payments. I waited about an hour and called Global Cash Card back and spoke to a lady named Tara.

She proceeded to tell me that my pending transactions would be put back onto my card on 03/28 at 3:10pm but THEN, she said my card was 'locked'. After asking why, she explained that since my fiancee called to ask questions earlier in the day, that I now needed to FAX over my identification before they could 'unlock' my card. I asked for their corporate information and she said they were corporate and they would not provide me any additional information until my ID was received, then their end of the phone was silent... I got hung up on. I have had this card for LESS than one month and decided to use it for receiving my weekly paycheck. So not only am I out an additional $156.35 and $1.65 because of their error of double charging me but I am out the rest of the funds on my entire card plus possibly my 03/27 paycheck that I cannot touch until my card is unlocked. Locking a card over questions and not for suspicious activity seems a bit extreme and all this happened within about 8 hours.
