Global Financial Inc. They are trying to have me cash a check form their company and to send them back most of the money for taxs. They say I won a sweepstakes, is this true? I have heard of this and am sceptacal on doing this with out imput. I feel it is a fraud, can someone tell me? Toronto Ontario Canada
I was sent a check in the mail form Global and it says i wona sweepstakes for 175,000.00 I am worried as I have heard of these type scams and want to find out if it is one, they have asked me to cash the check and then go to western union or a money gram and send them for taxs 2750.00 back. i have heard on TV that people do this and then the check bounces and you are out the money...Is this a scam? The check looks real. IF someone has had this happen please advise...Thanks

I got one of these letters also. You are right to be very suspicious. When exactly did you enter a sweepstakes in Canada? A quick Google search of the "Tax Agent" showed the address and postal code in Ottawa were not recognized by the Canadian Postal Service. Nor did the agent appear in the Ottawa white or yellow pages. I also had a different Toronto address for Global than the other report. I suspect that one is bogus as well. If it looks too good to be true, IT IS!!!!

Have you been living under a rock?? Of course this is a scam!! What I fail to understand is how people that get these in the mail have the prescence of mind to come to this site and post and ask dumb questions, when all they have to do is do a search here at ROR for frauds like this!!! They would be reading reports all day and night!!
