Complaint Review: Global Financial Services

About 3 months ago or so I started receiving phone calls from this company. I was unaware at the time my wife had taken out a payday loan with them.

She informed me she had taken out a $200 loan and paid back almost triple that amount, yet the calls to this day keep coming. Being a former collection manager and having worked in collections for about 15 years, I knew just by talking to these people that something wasn't right.

After checking out this company I have found some info that could be helpful for other people who are dealing with these scammers.

This company HAS NO LICENSE to even be doing business in Nevada. They say they are based out of the UK, but even if that is the case they still need to ABIDE BY THE LAWS OF ANY STATE, AND BE LICENSED IN ANY STATE THEY ARE DOING BUSINESS IN.

I know this, but to confirm it I contacted the State of Nevada Department of Business and Industry,and they did confirm the fact this business is operating without a license, and also confirmed the fact,which I found on the local BBB website, that they had sent them a "cease and desist" order on March 26,2007.

I have emailed the Department a request to finally shut down these scammers, as well as having contacted TRUST UK, which is like the BBB for the UK.

I have a solution for any of you that see this and need to get these people off your back.

Close your bank account and open a new one. These scammers have no way of getting their money if it is not in your account for them to take, and they are no where near smart enough to get any info on your new account. Because of the fact that they are operating without a license, their means of collecting the funds they say you owe them are nill. THEY CANNOT SUE YOU OR ATTACH YOUR WAGES....DO NOT BE FOOLED INTO PAYING THEM ANYMORE THAN YOU ALREADY HAVE!

There are certain steps you need to take to get judgements and wage-ex's,etc. on people, and they do not have the legal remedies to do so. DO NOT LET THEM SCARE YOU! If you get sick of their harrassing phone calls, then you may have to change your number, but do keep in mind that all the calls and threats they make are meaningless. I just laugh and hang up, knowing they have no way of getting a dime out of me or my wife.
There have been 60 complaints in the past 36 months filed thru the Reno,NV BBB, and as I stated before they do not even have a license to be doing business.
In closing, please pass the word along to anyone who has dealt with these scammers and DON'T LET THEM TAKE ANYMORE OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY! Close your account and never deal with this company again!
