GLOBAL INTERNATIONAL LOTTERY AGENCY
GLOBAL INTERNATIONAL LOTTERY AGENCY Claimed they were with Publishers Clearing House Making harassing number of calls after I told them I was not interested after finding several reports of scams involving their supposed company New York City, New York
I have received 3 notifications in the past week informing me that I have won anywhere between $100,000 and $800,000. They begin by telling me they are with Global International, a part of Publisher's Clearing House. When asked how I qualified for this prize they said by random drawing. It was very scary because they have all of my information including cell phone number and home address. They also asked personal "verification" questions such as if I'm single, a home owner, and if I live alone. (Scary when you find out later it's a scam.) They claim that 2 US marshals will accompany the certified check for the prize winnings. After listening to their whole speech, it then comes to the part where they want you to wire them money through moneygram or western union for taxes, insurance, and delivery fees. One of the times they called me, they wanted me to wire $550 to a man in Jamaica, this time they wanted me to wire $335.25 to a Leroy Leslie in Queens New York 11575. They apparently needed the receipt number for the $ that was wired before they could send the check via UPS. It is at this point in the conversation (not realizing each time it's the same scam because names change and phone numbers are changed) that I tell them never to call me again. However that never works, they then call me at least 10 more times in a row, to which I hit ignore.
