Jared Ekdahl is the owner of a franchised Global Mortgage division in Bellevue, Washington. I worked for him for 2 months and left because he was being dishonest about the loans / leads I was bringing him as a Loan Officer. He refused to pay me or update me on my leads if I left him, and then said he would pay me, and the reverts back and forth to not wanting to pay me and then to pay me. He then told me, when I asked to see HUD and his records of closed loans, that if I didn't know what HUD was he would no longer update me and claimed he would send me a check 'if' they closed. He owes me $6,000+ in commissions as I was bringing in, on average a week, 25+ leads.

When I went into his office to speak with him, he proceeded to cuss me out and got in my face and started poking me and yelling profanities. I then left and he spoke with him very recently and he once again yelled profanities at me. I had asked for a copy of the contract that I signed when I first began working for him and he refused me a copy on two occasions and also claimed he couldn't find it!

Stay away from Jared Ekdahl and Global Mortgage if you don't want to get ripped off.

#2UPDATE EX-employee responds

1. "Carl" is not even this persons real name, his real name is Justin and goes by "J". Im not sure why made a fake name since that does not help his credibility or Ripoffreports for not verifying peoples real identity before allowing people to file complaints. Also im not sure why J made this complaint since he still to this day contacts me to say hi and ask how things are going as if we already resolved this.

2. We hired J as a commission only telemarketer/Jr. Loan Officer to generate new leads for us as we trained him and although he did bring in new leads over a couple months none of them turned into closed transactions for the company. This was due to a couple reasons, the mortgage market had just started having its problems making it difficult to get borrowers a loan, and the leads were not pre-qualified very well. I had told this to J several times as well that it can take 2 to 3 months before you start making money.

3. We always had daily meetings and an open book policy to keep J or any employees completely updated since we were a team. When J asked to see records or HUDs of closed loans we told him he was more than welcome however there would not be a HUD statement which we get once a transaction closed which never happened. He insisted there should be HUD statements but I told him he could call the escrow department if he didnt believe us which I dont think he ever did.

4. We never went back and forth on paying him since nothing of his had closed we never owed him commission. J is refering to when we debated paying him a base hourly rate plus commission instead of all commission because we realized it was not easy to make money at that time for anyone. If we could go back we would have done it this way and im sure we would not have had this problem. We did let him know if we ever closed any of his leads we would send him a check. As for the 6k J is claiming was owed, this is just a made up number he had estimated to make it sound more legitimate.

To sum everything up we had a good working relationship with J until the end and thought he had a lot of potentional but he was young and new to the loan officer side and not used to commission. In a commision only job there is more incentive to pay employees and retain them since this is how the company makes money. If our specific branch had bad practices there would be other complaints but there are not. We have never had an employee not get paid what they were owed and we even helped some with severance pay after we closed the branch.
