My move was based on a job offer in Saudi Arabia. I was moving my property from Minneapolis, MN to Jonesboro, GA to put it in storage along with my car (I had contracted a gentleman to take care of my property and send me things as I needed them). When I arrived in Jonesboro, GA on 12-14-07, the movers did not show up. When I contacted the company, Global Moving Group) they had difficulty locating the driver (Sanchez Movers and Storage), and when they did they told me my property was in IL. It took me two weeks of calling everyday to finally get a confirmation that my property would be delivered. However, by this time the date of my departure had expired and since I would not be going to Saudi Arabia I decided to move back to MN.

I called the movers and told them to route my property back to MN (since my property was already in IL I didn't think this would be a problem). Due to me not getting the job, I had to drive my car back to MN. I was assured the mover would be there Friday 12-29-07 - again they did not show up.

When I finally got the moving company on the phone they were rude and refused to give me any information concerning the driver or my property. I was persistent calling several times a day, and finally was given the drivers name and number. It wasn't until 1-06-07 that my property finally arrived.

A number of items were missing and a lamp and my dishes were broken. Not only did the company not offer me a refund, they attempted to collect $425 more dollars from me for additional weight. I had very few things that were moved, and I was sure they did not exceed the 1000 lbs. agreed upon. When I asked to see the paper work, the date of the weighing was a day after my property was picked up (the driver told me that he would weigh the truck the same day). This has been a very stressful and expensive experience for me.
