Complaint Review: Global Moving Services

This company gave me an estimate of $1291.50 to move a 1BR apartment from MO to PA. I had a guaranteed price a few hundred more; the most expensive estimate was under $2100. Well this company's reps arrive in an unmarked van and after wrapping stuff and charging for various things (including what winds up being a $100 mathematical error in their favor over wrapping supplies), winds up taking more than that as a HALF payment and gets in total $2696 for a 1 BR apartment. When I balk at this I get the threat of them keeping my stuff, charging me for it, etc.

I had to make a cash advance and get my parents to give me every dollar they had to pay for this. And they didn't even take all my stuff. When I attempted to make a complaint with the Better Business Bureau near their FL office, they gave the BBB back a form letter saying most people don't take into account their garage, attic or basement belongings. Well, I had NONE of those! The math error, the lack of those things, it didn't matter. They kept my money and even lied to the BBB saying they had urged me to make some kind of complaint (when NO such thing occurred). I wish I had the money to sue their --- off. Just another example of businesses robbing consumers blind and knowing we lack the resources to make them honest.
