Global Payments Credit Card Processor / Comerica Merchant Services Global Payments held our account hostage when we left their processing internet
Global Payments were the processor for my bank, so I went with them. They set up my account so that they OWNED my gateway — so I could never leave and had very little power over the rates they charged me. (I had a Customer Information Manager on the gateway with 750 clients. I couldn’t set up a new gateway with a new processor and get credit cards from all our clients all over again.) I fought Global, and eventually (after 6 months!) they let me change processors, but they still owned the gateway.
Then 2 weeks ago — after nearly a year of using a new processor — they closed my Authorize.net gateway without any notice and without contacting me at all. For two weeks, I had no income and couldn’t process cards (or pay rent or bills or payroll…) as each customer service person gave me a different answer and said there was nothing they could do. My main contact at Global wouldn’t take calls at all. Eventually, one person at Authorize.net found a way to bypass Global and change the gateway to my ownership -- something Global refused to do. Stay as far away from Global Payments as you can!
