While attending the WWIN Apparel Market at the Rio Hotel Convention Center in Las Vegas, I was offered a seat to rest, water, and a sample of cream that would remove my wrinkles. After two hours of pressure sales , being tag teamed by a charming young man and woman, I agreeded to buy wrinkle removing cream. Unfortunally their credit card machine wasn't working, but they would get my card number and charge me when it was restored. My card was charged for two transactions. One for $1500.00 and one for $2400. I received no receipt and I signed no receipt. When I disputed the charge it was removed from my bill. The company, Global Retail, disputed this and produced a receipt that they submitted to the credit card company. My signature was not on this receipt, but they had a form which they submitted that looked like my signature giving them authority to charge my card. I did sign something while there, but not this form. I filled out a form with my name and address and signed it.

I returned the unopened package to the shippers address by using a call tag from FedEX to send the package back. FedEX lost the package. I am being charged $4000.00 because Discover cannot reverse the charge since Global Retail never got the package back. I filed a claim with FedEx, but the oriiginal package was listed as worth $103.00 by Global Retail when it was shipped to me. FedEx has denied my claim for $4000.00, the amount I was charged for the cream, because even though they lost it, it is only worth the $103.00 declared value put on it by Global Retail. I have since found out that Global Retail's return addess is not valid and this company also is listed as EL Cosmetics. I have presented FedEx with copies of my credit card bill showing the charges, reversal of charges and then the re-charging of the $4000.00 due to the fact that Global Retail never received the package back. I have been screwed by Global Retail, Discover and FedEx.

I have repeatedly tried to contact Global Retail and EL Cosmetics , but the phone numbers I have are not answered. The phone rings and a recording says, "we are sorry but your call did not go through. I have called many times at different times to no avail. I am convinced that Global Retail and EL Cosmetics are a scam of the smoothest sort targeting older women at trade shows. I am embarrassed to have been a victim of such a scam and hope this will save someone the loss of money, embarassment, and hours spent trying to recover my loss. I talked with the BBB in Las Vegas and they have had reports on this company, but the company is not listed or rated with BBB. I also talked to the Las Vegas Police Department and was told I could file a small claims case, but I would have to do that in Las Vegas. I am in TN., so this is unlikely. I will file a report with the WWin Apparel show, but have not yet done so. It seems that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, including my self esteem and my money. I think most of all, I am dissappointed in Discover Card and FedEX. They were both very kind and sorry, but this is a Major League Scam.
