Complaint Review: Global Teldata

Global Teldata Inc. Tells people that they can have local "unlimited" phone service for $79.95 Installation fee, and $29.99 per month thereafter. Only they change it to $39.99 after you sign up, and then tell you after a year of satisfactory payment, they lower it to the original $29.99.

I paid the $79.99 and then after a month received a bill for $77.00. I called and was told that this was a pro-rated bill for one and a half months, and then they said it was because of numerous mandatory federal fee's, then they just plain said it was a mistake, and to pay it, and I would receive a credit on my next bill.

My next bill was for $61.00, I called, and I was then told that the first bill was correct, and that my rate was in fact $44.00 a month (Not $29.99)and that there were numerous federal surcharges, and blah, blah, blah. The upshot is that from May 5th, 2003 through through June 8th I have paid $219.00 for simple residential phone service. ( I use my cell phone mostly, so I can't imagine what I am paying all this for.)

I have filed a complaint with the ICC, and will subsequently seek to file a class action suit against this company. Anyone with info, or who have also been ripped off please leave a contact number for me should you wish to become part of this litigation.
If you need phone service DO NOT use Global Teldata Inc. When I get finished with them there won't be a Global Teldata Inc. It will join ENRON where it belongs.
