Complaint Review: Global Timeshare Sales - Vacation Property Network

Our parents were contacted by Dale Martin at Global Timeshare Sales to see if they wanted to sell their timeshare. This guy seemed different than many other scammers as he assured them that they only charge a flat commission of $1,350. only WHEN they sell the timeshare. You know not to trust those who want an upfront fee for this service. Thank goodness our parents asked us to follow up with GTS.

Dale followed through, made several callbacks, was never pushy over the 1+ month period and assured us he had a buyer and the price seemed reasonable. I wondered one time when I called Dale's phone # and the answerer said before he put me on hold, "Which one of you guys goes by Dale?" If I asked for the full name Dale Martin, they transferred me to him each time, no problem.

Dale said Global Timeshare Sales finances all transactions as that's how they make their $. It only seemed fishy when Dale assured me all was ready to go, then was willing to accept check or credit card for the $1,350/wk commission before anything was signed. He assured me it was against the law for the title company to withhold the fee from the sales proceeds.

Finally, it went awry when I asked him for the contract to review. He started getting defensive and replied that there's nothing in writing until AFTER escrow closes?! I wouldn't back down about wanting to review the sales contract, then he said, "Well I guess this won't work for you" and he hung up. Haven't heard a word since... I am very skeptical and these guys are good scammers - watch out!
