Complaint Review: Global Yellow Pages

Several phone calls over a few days from a "Yellow Pages" Representative, finally told me Global Yellow Pages, gave a Rochester Address and an 800 number. Global Yellow Pages on-line has a pop-up notice that unknown people are calling and saying they are soliciting information, it is NOT THEM, they do not do that.

The address given to me goes to a nite club and shopping mall in Rochester, the phone number (I did not publish it) to a medical supplies company (probably just grabbed from previous victims) Heaviy accented (call center in India?) people tried to get me to agree to pay for a web site (kept saying I was buying nothing - then said quickly, no payment due for 30 days or I can opt out then) and I kept saying no and hanging up on them. One called me back up and yelled at me, "Don't I want to be in the yellow pages?"

I did not give my real name, they did not know anything except what is in the real yellow pages. They gave obviously fake americanized names. They ask for verification of my information, to get me to say yes to a purchase, as they keep asking for more and more information, after I told them they had the correct address and company name. The real yellow pages local directories know who I am, and it is not these people. The last series of calls was this morning. The caller ID shows no information. This is now annoyance and harassment, and I will notify the local telephone company.
