I'm another one who was billed $54.90 for service I did not order from Globalinx. I have been promised repayment on about 7 different dates since I called them, but every date has passed without my money being returned.

I filed a complaint with the BBB which has accomplished nothing. Tomorrow I contact the Virginia State's Attorney office. Their number is 1-800-552-9963. I recommend everyone else do the same. If we can't get our money, at least let's see if we can put the theives behind bars.

Finally, the Right Place to Call

Today I finally found the right place to call to complain about Globalinx. It is the Federal Trade Commission. They have a toll-free number 1-877-382-4357 and the website is http://www.ftc.gov. I hope everyone who reads this and has been scammed by Globalinx will contact the FTC as soon as possible so we can stop their scamming.

How they got my info

I recently had another "hit" on my Mastercard of 72.00 for a rewards program I did not apply for. When I called this company, they told me that VistaPrint (http://www.vistaprint.com) provided them with my credit card information back in August 2002. VistaPrint has an ongoing offer of 250 "free" business cards to new customers. I ordered the cards and paid the $4.95 S&H for them with my Mastercard. I remember VistaPrint had a bunch of pop-up ads but I just closed them without even looking at them. I suspect now those were sign-up screens that captured my credit card info for Phonelinx/Globalinx and this other company.

The rewards program company was great - they refunded my 72.00 immediately. But now I am going to have to 'hotkey' my credit card and have a new number issued because I can't take a chance that VistaPrint has provided my info to somebody else.

My advice to anybody else whose had this experience is to have your card cancelled and a new one issued. I still don't have my money from Globalinx and have received an email from an attorney interested in a possible class action against them. I'll post a follow-up on this aspect of my complaint as soon as I have more info.

I will NEVER do any business with VistaPrint again!
