Bought online a D-Link Router through TigerDirect (June 2002) and as a thank you ordering from them, TigerDirect included in my shipment a Globalinx/Phonelinx 15-day free trial phonecard.

Due to circumstances (out of town) my shipment was returned to TigerDirect and promptly refunded for the Router.

However, a month after initially ordering the Router I started to receive charges to my credit card for $54.90 from Globalinx/Phonelinx. Bear in mind I never repeat never received that free 15-day free trial phonecard and therefore did not even have a chance to utilize let alone open an account. I have never heard of Globalinx/Phonelinx ever. Their parent company is Orion Technologies Inc.

Contacted TigerDirect directly several times and finally got the charges stopped from Globalinx/Phonelinx. TigerDirect of course gave me the run around and via the Better Business Bureau TigerDirect promised to refund the two months of charges by Globalinx/Phonelinx. That promise letter was in September 2002 and still nothing in April 2003.

I believe that TigerDirect is guilty of "invasion of privacy" for illegally providing Globalinx/Phonelinx my personal and financial information allowing them to charge my credit card. I do not know why it is TigerDirect's business practice to provide personal data to other companies!

And Globalinx/Phonelinx is guilty of "blatant fraud". How can you charge someone that has never opened an account or even inquired about doing such. I surely did not authorize them to charge my credit card in the least.

I contacted the BBB for Globalinx/Phonelinx and they refused to respond to the BBB through several attempts. I did receive a letter via the BBB from TigerDirect promising a refund of $109.80 for the two months charged by Globalinx/Phonelinx.

To date I have not received my money back nor responses to various letters sent to both TigerDirect and Globalinx/Phonelinx. I even wrote the President and CEO of TigerDirect and nothing (of course).
