We took a Globus 23 day european tour. The way the tours read your going to have a wonderful time. The cost up front is really way out of line for what the ad says you will get vs what you actually get.

The hotels are so far from the center of everything! Can't even go out in the evening even if you wanted to because the areas are not safe and the hotels are so isolated there is nothing to see anyway.

Everything is al la carte and I am not talking about food! Example: In Munich Germany we were about 1 hr from the city center. If you wanted to see the Marienplatz or go to the Hofbrauhaus you had to pay extra to join the "OPTIONAL" tour. Even then by the time you got to the hotel and changed it was time to leave again and NO DINNER!

Very little is offered other then the never ending bus ride.

The tour director was very good but by the time you heard her say something about a site, you already passed it and forgot what she said!

More over, I cannot stress enough about the bad hotels. The ones that was listed for the tour were changed. Everyone was given a poor answer as to why the hotels were changed.
NEVER AGAIN!

Additionally, I found it in very poor taste that envelopes were given in the travel package when it arrived before I left for the trip for TIPS for the tour guide and the driver. Additional tips were requested at several stops where another tour guide was "running" the group throught a small town. One of them went so fast that some of the older folks wasn't able to keep up.
When I returned home I wrote the company and they could have cared less BUT maybe you will have a better time on your NEXT tour with US! Like that would happen!

The great Globus Tour

Contrary to the report from Mr Lewes in Delaware; After 6 tours with Globus and a 7th this summer I find them to be a wonderful company.

They provide website, email and phone contact to get help.

You can choose a tour with a lot of bus riding or a little bus riding.

The overnight stays have been in some wonderful places with great hotels. After a long day, a delious dinner is waiting.

I travel mostly in Europe.

At "tourist" stops I ventured out on my own. The friendly tour guide would always advise me when the bus would be leaving so I made sure I was back. At overnight stops I got a cab or used local buses. Never had a safety problem or concern.

It was so relaxing to be able sleep ( rather than my driving) while the bus went to the city.

Tips are a standard practice for good service. Globus makes it easy and convenient. Mr Lewes sounds like a cheapskate. Each person that helps me along the way gets tip.
