Complaint Review: Glonal Tel Link

Global tel link has been the most frusterating company to deal with. My husband is incarcerated for a non violent marijuana charge and daily phone calls are a lifeline for us. GTL makes it almost impossible to get a hold of them when you have a question or problem or if you want to make a payment over the phone for a prepay account (since they won't let you do it online). I have also had a number of disputes with them over my bill but I do not have full access to the phone calls I have made via my account on the internet and the documentation of calls made seems to come in the mail about a month or two later when I have basically forgotten about it.

I have been on hold a number of times for over a half an hour before I just hang up and forget about it. And their call back system seems to lose my number. The operators are extremely unhelpful and a number of them have told me wrong information. Twice I sent in checks to go towards my prepay account that were cashed but never put on my books. And now, my husband is unable to get through to me because when he calls, there is a recording that says I put a block on his calls. I have no way of removing that block that I know of except to wait till monday to call them and pray that I get through.

I have cried out of frustration and anger and taken it out on the operators which is really not the best solution since they are just employees. The problem is at the top but there is no way of reaching the people at the top. That is one of the most frustrating things to me about this company is that managers, supervisors, representatives in America, and the information they have about our accounts are very hard if not impossible to access.
